I used to have a closet bursting with clothes but still feel like I had nothing to wear. Sound familiar? That all changed when I discovered the concept of a capsule wardrobe.
What is a Capsule Wardrobe?
A capsule wardrobe is a curated collection of essential, timeless pieces that all work together. Think quality over quantity — about 30-40 items that mix and match effortlessly.

My Winter Essentials
Tops (8 pieces)
- 2 basic white t-shirts
- 1 striped long-sleeve tee
- 2 fine-knit sweaters (cream and grey)
- 1 turtleneck (black)
- 1 hoodie for casual days
- 1 button-up shirt
Bottoms (5 pieces)
- 2 pairs of jeans (one light, one dark)
- 1 pair of black trousers
- 1 midi skirt
- 1 pair of leggings
Outerwear (3 pieces)
- Trench coat
- Wool coat (camel)
- Puffer vest
Dresses (2 pieces)
- Midi dress (can be layered)
- Sweater dress
The Shopping Rule
Before buying anything new, I ask myself:
- Does it go with at least 3 things I already own?
- Will I wear it in a year? In 5 years?
- Is it good quality that will last?
If the answer is no to any of these, it stays on the rack.

My Favourite Stores for Capsule Pieces
- Uniqlo — basics done right
- COS — minimal, timeless designs
- Everlane — transparent pricing and quality
- Local thrift stores — unique finds at great prices
The freedom of a capsule wardrobe is incredible. Less decision fatigue, more money for pieces I truly love, and getting dressed is suddenly effortless.
